Who is the copyright holder for Hibernate Commons Annotations? In versions prior to 5.0.2, each source file contained a copyright notice naming Red Hat as the copyright holder. Those copyright notices were removed starting with version 5.0.2. Does anyone know why there were removed? My company’s legal rep has advised that the lack of copyright notices is non-compliant with the LGPL license.
Any info would be appreciated.
Hello,
no copyright notice has been removed. I see two new source files have been added, which didn’t have an explicit copyright notice - I’ve fixed this now, please see:
- https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HCANN-114
We do aim to have a copyright notice on each file, but the goal of this is additional clarity. The lgpl.txt file in the root of the source tree is to be considered the reference.
More details are documented here:

This notice does not really look like a copyright notice. According to Copyright notice - Wikipedia it should have the year of publication and the name of the copyright owner.
