I switched from Hibernate 4.3.5 to the latest Hibernate Version 5.4.1 and got after that always this error:

The error happens in Glassfish when I try to call a method from an @EJB variable where Glassfish resolves it via reflections - as you can maybe already guess from the StackTrace.
I tried Payara 4 and Glassfish 5, but got always this error. Then I tried Hibernate 5.2.18 and the error vanished in Integration-Tests, but had another error on deployment you fixed here: https://hibernate.atlassian.net/browse/HHH-12396. So I had to move at least to 5.3.2 and the error got back. So the problem must be introduced in the 5.3 branch of Hibernate. But I have no clue what exactly causes it and how to prevent it.
Any ideas?
