In the newer versions of Hibernate, DB2SqlAstTranslator does not support older versions syntax for boolean expressions.
For instance for method visitBooleanExpressionPredicate(), as of version 6.6.26, the implementation was written this way:
if ( getDB2Version().isSameOrAfter( 11 ) ) {
However, as of version 7.2.0, this line is missing.
The source of the change is “HHH-18639 Remove support for DB2 versions older than 11.1 and start testing with DB2 12.1”
This appears problematic for DB2 z/OS. The new format is not supported in this implementation, and is not expected to be, by the vendor:
We managed to create a workaround; however we strongly suggest to retain the old behavior for DB2 z/OS.
