# Performance question with Blaze Persistence (subqueries)

Looking at the source code, I can’t figure out why it would be empty at that point though if no exception is thrown in the `try` block. Since the query you posted with the model I derived does not fail in that same way, I can’t really understand what is going on.  
I hope you can provide a reproducer somehow so I can give a deeper look.
