More details could be useful…

Are you trying ORM with JDK 11? That might explain it not finding JAXB as it’s not included in the JDK anymore. With JDK 11, you need to declare an explicit dependency to JAXB.

Same error for jdk 10 and 8

Try with the external JDK and not the one supplied by IntelliJ IDEA.

You can change that from the Project SDK setting.
